State employees, spouses, and dependents across more than 25 Commonwealth agencies are eligible for the tuition discount

Recently, Elizabethtown College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) announced a collaboration with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (COPA) to offer a 15% tuition discount on educational programs that enhance the skills and professional development of state employees as well as their spouses and dependents.

The agreement includes more than 25 eligible Commonwealth agencies that offer access to vital government services including healthcare programs, educational support, employment opportunities, as well as the safety and security of neighborhoods.

“We recognize and appreciate the immense value that Commonwealth employees provide to Pennsylvania residents,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “Through this agreement, we’re honored to give back to these individuals and their families with the exceptional educational opportunities our School of Graduate and Professional Studies provides adult learners to excel in their careers.”

The tuition discount will apply to SGPS undergraduate and graduate-level programs, as well as the micro-credentialing platform Etown Edge, which offers over 300 affordable courses through self-paced modules across a variety of in-demand fields.

“Pursuing additional education to advance your career is a tremendous commitment,” Secretary of Administration Neil Weaver said. “It takes hard work and sacrifice to balance the demands of job, school, and family and be successful. Working with Pennsylvania’s higher education institutions to make tuition more affordable is one way we can support employees and their families on this journey. We are pleased for Elizabethtown College to join us in making these opportunities possible.”

For more than 70 years, SGPS has had a direct and positive impact on the workforce and economy of both Lancaster County and throughout the southcentral Pennsylvania region by offering convenient and flexible undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as micro-credential options specifically designed to meet the needs of busy working adults. Courses are taught by faculty who are working professionals in the fields in which they teach, ensuring that content is current and highly applicable.

SGPS works together with corporate, educational, and community partners from around the region to help build a powerful workforce and advance the careers of learners through the affinity partner program. Learn more about Elizabethtown College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
