The College’s second-largest class since 2009 will arrive on campus this fall

Elizabethtown College will welcome a total of 550 incoming students to campus this fall, which includes 505 first-years who make up the Class of 2028 and 45 new transfer students. Classes for the Fall 2024 semester begin on Monday, Aug. 26.

“We are excited to welcome such an academically accomplished group of incoming Blue Jays to our campus community to begin exploring the limitless opportunities an Elizabethtown College education offers them to advance their professional and personal aspirations,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “Their selection of Etown demonstrates that our College is a top destination for high-achieving students seeking exceptional academic programs, a vibrant campus life, innovative research, and real-world experiences.”

Interest in Elizabethtown College from incoming students has never been higher with a record 3,618 first-year applications submitted by the Class of 2028.

Elizabethtown College has recently launched numerous high-demand professional programs such as Computer Science concentrations in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and Cybersecurity and Exercise Science concentrations in Pre-Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning. These new offerings add to already sought-after programs such as Occupational Therapy, Engineering, Biology, Business, Education, Humanities, Psychology, and Political Science.

A snapshot of the incoming class profile is as follows:

  • Average first-year student GPA is 3.73 
  • 102 domestic students of color and international students
  • 7 Stamps Scholars (The Stamps Scholarship program recognizes and rewards exceptional students who exemplify leadership, perseverance, scholarship, service, overcoming obstacles, and innovation.)
  • 65 Momentum students (The Momentum program prepares students who are first-generation college students and/or meet financial eligibility for Etown, assisting them in an effort to get the most from their education and become an integral part of the campus community.)
  • 136 students accepted into the Honors Program at Elizabethtown College
  • 15 states represented including 69% from Pennsylvania
  • 11 foreign countries represented, including Brazil, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Netherlands, and Zimbabwe.

Incoming students will begin embarking on their Etown journey during New Student Orientation from Friday, Aug. 23 through Sunday, Aug. 25 where new Blue Jays will meet their peers, experience Etown traditions, and familiarize themselves with campus ahead of their first day of classes.
