Elizabethtown College is recognizing and commemorating Juneteenth being celebrated on Wednesday, June 19. Juneteenth is a day to honor African American history, promote inclusivity, deepen historical awareness, foster cultural enrichment, support social justice efforts, and empower the campus community to become agents of positive change.
In observance of the federal holiday, non-essential administrative offices will be closed on June 19. Summer classes will remain in session and Dining Services will operate under normal summer operating hours. The High Library will be closed on June 19, while the Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness, and Well-Being will operate under its normal summer schedule.
In honor of this day, all members of our community are encouraged to explore ways to celebrate this African American cultural tradition of music, food, and freedom with several Juneteenth resources and events:
