This is the third consecutive year the College has been awarded the recognition

Elizabethtown College was honored as one of the nation’s most transfer-friendly schools for the third consecutive year by being named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society’s 2023 Transfer Honor Roll. The annual award recognizes excellence in the development and support of dynamic and innovative pathways for community college transfer students.

Institutions are selected based on admissions practices, cost of attendance, campus life, recruitment practices, and student reviews, This year, PTK named just 208 colleges and universities to its 2023 Transfer Honor Roll.

“It’s an honor to once again be named as one of the nation’s top transfer-friendly schools by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management John Champoli said. “We know that transferring to another school can be intimidating. It’s why we take pride in ensuring a seamless transfer process and presenting the right resources to all students who are looking to make a change so that they can start living their best life at Etown.”

Etown’s strategic approach to easing the transfer process for students includes enrollment agreements with a number of two-year colleges including Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Reading Area Community College (RACC), and Harford Community College (HCC), along with special visit opportunities such as on-campus Transfer Thursdays and Virtual Transfer 1-on-1 Sessions.

“The goal of most students attending community college is a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexities of the transfer process,” Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa said. “We are proud to recognize the  exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. The Transfer Honor Roll was based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse, and on data submitted through the four-year institution’s profile on PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways.
