Recently, Elizabethtown College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies RN to BSN Program received national accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Launched in the fall of 2020 to address a nationwide nursing shortage, Etown’s RN to BSN Program is 100 percent online and offers accelerated five-week classes with flexible step-in, and step-out options to meet the needs of practicing nurses.
“We are proud that Elizabethtown College is able to offer a flexible nursing program amidst a high national need for qualified nurses,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “This next step in earning national accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Educate is an important one which demonstrates the exceptional quality of our program and of our faculty.”
Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency that contributes to the improvement of the public’s health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing.
Nationally, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is becoming the standard entry-level degree for registered nurses. Etown’s program, designed for licensed registered nurses with an associate degree or nursing diploma (ADN), advances the skills and knowledge of professionals within the high-demand nursing field through interactive and engaging courses taught by highly-trained professionals.
Key differentiators for Etown’s RN to BSN Program include:
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) creates a pathway for nontraditional students to accelerate their academic progress by earning credits for previous work and life experience.
- Dedicated faculty and advisors who take a student-focused approach
- An education that aligns with Etown’s Educate for Service mission.
“At Elizabethtown College, we believe in the power of a transformational education,” Elizabethtown College RN to BSN Director of Nursing Lisa Homa said. “Our Nursing program has incredible faculty that partner with our learners to inspire and assist in reaching their highest potential.”
The spring application deadline is on Jan. 6, 2023, with classes beginning on Jan. 16, 2023. Etown will hold several upcoming virtual information sessions where participants can speak with admissions counselors to discover more about the program.
